Just to be clear, we are not by any stretch of the imagination wine connoisseurs. What we are, however, is a couple of girls who know what we like, what we don’t like, and know what we wouldn’t wrap our lips around. We simply want to enjoy good wine and cut through the ‘wine-speak’ crap, (that sure titillates some, but confuses the hell out of us) and try to find the most delicious, affordable wines that can make us, and all of our friends smile.
Montepulciano is a particular fave of ours. It’s a yummy red Italian wine that comes from the Abruzzo region. We have found many brands over the years, but with the consideration of both taste and our pocket, this one is a star.
Zonin has been a family owned company since 1821. Montepulciano is easy to drink, has no nasty after taste, light but still a warm and snugly drop. A bit fruity, a bit dry but definitely not unpleasant, lovely ruby red colour. Brilliant of course with red meats, pasta, and pizza or delicious flavoured cheeses.
