Distressed Vintage Look Coffee Table

This weekend I was desperate to get onto a long awaited project. I have a really ugly old timber coffee table, which I have been wanting to paint for ages. A quick trip to Bunnings for supplies, and I was back home ready to start prepping our new project.

We really wanted chalk paint, but this was more difficult to find than we realised. – note to self, order chalk paint online…

Armed with brushes, basic Antique White paint, clear varnish, and sandpaper, we took the table outside, and began sanding the original paint back.

Luckily the weather was warm, after roughly sanding back the table, we applied the first coat of paint. Once dry a second coat went on, and then the fun began with distressing the timber with sandpaper to give the coffee table an old vintage distressed look.

The finished creation, one quick weekend of fun, our new distressed vintage look coffee table!
